Roofing Contractor in Parma, OH

Parma is Ohio’s largest suburb, and it was built in a hurry. The population nearly tripled in the 1950s, and almost four in ten homes here went up that decade. Those post-war bungalows and ranches are on their third or fourth roof now, and many need more than shingles.

ARC Roofing & Home Improvements is a family-owned company based on Cleveland’s west side, roofing since 1985. We use our own crews and most roofs are replaced in one day.

Post-War Parma Homes

From Ridgewood, planned as a garden city back in 1919, to the streets around State Road and Ridge Road, Parma is full of solid, modest homes from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. They were built to last, but 70-year-old decking, old chimneys and undersized gutters catch up with any house. Most Parma homes are owner-occupied, and many have been in the same family for decades.

Two-layer limit – Parma allows no more than two roof layers. If your house already has two, we tear off completely before the new roof goes on.

Ice protection at the eaves – The city requires ice protection from the eave to 24 inches inside the exterior wall, which is how we install every roof here.

Siding with house wrap – Parma requires house wrap under new siding. We include it on every siding job.

The 2024 Tornado and This Year’s Hail

On August 6, 2024, an EF-1 tornado with winds around 104 miles per hour crossed 17 miles of Cuyahoga County, including Parma, ripping siding off at least one house and leaving tree and power line damage around the Shoppes at Parma. Then on April 15, 2026, quarter-size hail fell in Parma. If your roof went through either, a free inspection can tell you whether you have an insurance claim.

Parma Permits and Registration

Parma requires every contractor to register with the Building Department before working in the city, and uses one combined permit for windows, siding, roofing and doors. Working without a permit carries a penalty. We register, pull the permit and follow the city’s roofing and siding requirements on every job.

We give you a clear, written estimate with options. If a repair makes more sense than a replacement on your Parma home, we will tell you.

Questions We Hear in Parma

No. Parma limits roofs to two layers, so a house that already has two needs a full tear-off. That is the better job anyway, since it lets us check and repair the decking.
